Renewable energy development brings investment, jobs and long-term economic opportunity. It can also bring change to local landscapes and communities.

Community benefit sharing involves sharing the project owner’s rewards of renewable energy development with local communities by contributing to the community’s future success.

Feedback from previous community consultation has indicated that greater coordination in the delivery of benefits is the preferred approach by community and local governments. A coordinated regional fund can enable larger initiatives that make a greater impact on important local issues and leave a greater legacy for the community. Communities can benefit from a more strategic co-design and coordination of benefit sharing to create positive impacts that last for generations.
